Hello,
My name is Debi and I was a Michigander until February of 2003. That is when the Lord separated me from my extended family members. What I thought was a loss has turned out to be the most incredible journey full of blessing in His plans for me.
Although I missed seeing my extended family terribly, He knew it was what our immediate family needed, and the stretching of my inner self came in the package of personal- physical pain, emotional longings and great mental anguish. And yet it was apart of that journey to get to all the blessings He had in store for me.
For when I became weak that was when He became strong!
Loneliness brought me to Grace College but victory and strength is where I completed not only a Masters of Arts in Counseling in 2011 but also completed two Bachelors of Science Degrees in Psychology and Sociology in 2008.
It is my honor and my privilege to serve a Living Personal God in whom I love! He has provided more than I can ever thank Him for and yet I always find the time to grumble – and it is there that I am reminded of His grace, His mercy and His love for all of us. It is also there that I realize the power of thoughts and how we think effects our behavior; therefore, my personal preference of therapy is Cognitive Behavior along with Existentialism.
Along with that comes respect for everyone to have their right to choose their own path without forcing or implying my personal preference in therapy. I was given the privilege to intern at many locations, which provided extended training in hands on areas with clients along with supervision of professionals that impacted my creativity and abilities:
Family Concern Counseling, The Center for Hospice for clients who live with the loss of their loved ones in Mishawaka and Elkhart, in Columbia City the Addiction Recovery Center, as well as observing and participating with a licensed clinician in Plymouth, A New Direction in Counseling.
I became a full time member of the team at Family Concern Counseling in May of 2011.
My current clientele range from three years old to 68 years old.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me – I look forward to the possibility of talking with you and answering specific concerns and questions directly.
